Have you ever just wanted to drive to the mountains, rent a cabin, and elope without the pressure of pleasing everyone else? Well that’s what Joe + Jaime did. But, with a twist. They also had a small wedding the day after their Elopement in Dahlonega, Georgia. But more on that later.
Jaime is a Southern California girl. Joe is a true country boy from a small town in Georgia. It doesn’t sound like it would work, but these two are perfect for each other. You could see and feel the love they have for each other all weekend and they are constantly making each other laugh. Their differences keep things interesting but they have plenty in common to bond over. You can see more of these two from their engagement session.
Jaime has always had a thing for numbers. And the number 12 has always been her lucky number. Before they were engaged, Jaime jokingly told Joe that she could squeeze their wedding in on February 12, 2022. Jaime is a hair and make up artist for weddings so her schedule for the first half of the year was already full. But their conversation wasn’t serious at the time. Fast forward to the day they got engaged. They went on a trip to Montana and Joe proposed on Highway 212. When they got home and started planning their wedding, the date for 2-12-22 was MEANT TO BE!
But, things are never that simple.
I am lucky enough to call Jaime one of my best friends. Which means I got to help with planning the wedding! And wedding planning is no easy task. It was already in the late fall as we started to plan this wedding. Jaime has a specific venue she LOVED, but they weren’t available for her date of 2-12-22. So, they compromised. That’s what marriage is all about. So, they had a full wedding weekend. Since the venue wasn’t available for 2-12, they eloped so they could keep the date of 2-12. Don’t worry, they had a full wedding the very next day. That will be another blog. Part 2 of their wedding weekend.
Jaime and Joe rented a cabin in the woods for their elopement in Dahlonega, Georgia. We were lucky enough to join them at the cabin. They rented this beautiful cabin by a little river and it was the perfect location to spend the weekend. They got ready with each other while I photographed the details and then they said their vows on the deck looking over the water. After they were OFFICIALLY married, we took a few portraits around the cabin. It was one my favorite days, ever.
I am so happy for these two and their amazing Elopement in Dahlonega, Georgia. It was the perfect day and I can’t wait to show you part 2 of their wedding weekend. Part 2 is the full wedding day with all the pretty details from some amazing vendors.
