The forecast called for rain all day long, but this sunny couple didn’t bat an eye. At a beautiful venue called Whispering Pines in Graham, Alabama, Taylor and Wes were far too overjoyed to consider the weather. The day was full of so much laughter and light that although it was a miracle when the clouds parted and the sun came out, it wasn’t a surprise.
The rain held off for the ceremony, and the two were married in front of the beautiful lake on the property. After the ceremony, everyone danced the night away! It wasn’t until the sparkler exit, that it began to pour down rain, which actually made for some amazing photos!
Taylor and Wes were lucky to be surrounded by one of the most amazing bridal parties I have ever worked with. The group was so supportive and excited to be there celebrating the couple’s love. Taylor’s maid of honor is actually part of a wedding business called Grace & Truth, and used her experience to help make Taylor’s day go as smoothly as possible despite the rain!
Taylor and Wes met through a mutual friend in college, and have since been inseparable.
One of the questions I always ask my couples before shooting a wedding is what their favorite thing about their partner is, and the answer that I got from Taylor and Wes really stuck with me while I was capturing their wedding:
Taylor said, “Wes is slow to anger and quick to forgive,” while Wes said, “Taylor understands me better than anyone else.”
It is impossible to overlook the way that the two love each other when working closely with them, or even when watching the pair from afar. During their first look, as Wes turned around to face his soon-to-be bride, I remember thinking to myself– that is the way every woman dreams of being looked at!
There were just as many awe-inspiring moments during their portraits. Taylor and Wes are experts at making each other laugh, and it was amazing seeing two best friends head over heels in love.
Taylor and Wes, to capture your love was easy, and to celebrate it was an honor. You two are truly best friends, and it is easy to see how committed you are to making eachother happy. May you always be slow to anger, and always be quick to forgive. May you never fear a cloudy day, and always stop to dance in the rain. Congratulations on your union! I couldn’t be happier for you.
