On a fresh spring morning, I met with Tom and Amy for their engagement session at their beautiful wedding venue in Greenville, GA. The two are planning to tie the knot October 26, 2019 at Bogle Farms, and the venue couldn’t be more fitting for the lovely pair. It was such a pleasure shooting such a sweet and intimate session to celebrate Tom and Amy’s engagement, and I am so happy to be able to share their story with my SAPPY family.
Since the late 1800’s, this beautiful and farm has served as a peaceful place of gathering. I just know I could have shot there for hours and hours, and still have felt like there was more to see. The space was absolutely stunning, and offered so many breathtaking settings for these photos.
After exploring the farm, I decided my favorite spot was by the lake. The water was so still and tranquil, and it really lended itself to such a peaceful and intimate session. By the bank of the lake, there was a canoe resting. The whole setting was so romantic, as if it had been forgotten by time. I knew this was the perfect spot to start our session.
After photographing by the lake, we ventured off to the beautiful field that Amy and Tom’s wedding ceremony will overlook. It couldn’t have been a more serene setting. The field rolled out into the distance, bright and green, and we took some of my favorite photos from the session.
After shooting at the field for a while, we got in Tom’s Jeep Wrangler for some more exploring.
We drove to a woodsy area where tall pine trees stood in perfect lines, and got some amazing shots. On our way back, we rode to the horse pastures and the horses all came running up to us! We got to pet them for a little while before they galloped off to continue grazing.
We finished the session in the front of the venue by the garden, where the snowball hydrangeas were in full bloom, and ended with some magical images.
Throughout the session, we really got to talk about the couple’s wedding plans, and visualize everything coming together. I left this session feeling so excited for their wedding day, and so honored to play a part in telling their story!
Amy and Tom had their first date at Meat and Greet in downtown Newnan, GA. Then, they headed over to The Cellar for drinks, music and conversation. The laid back pair has been inseparable since.
When the duo took a trip to Toccoa Falls, Tom took Amy on a walk to a quiet and secluded area. There, Tom popped the question.
Tom and Amy were so much fun to work with because it is so clear that they are so in love. One thing that really stuck with me about the pair were their first thoughts upon meeting each other, which I was lucky enough to learn: Amy thought first about Tom’s kind eyes, and Tom says that he was just awestruck by how beautiful Amy was.
During this session, I felt like I could see them thinking those same thoughts, and it was just so magical. I really wanted to focus on capturing the way that they looked at one another.
Amy says her favorite thing about Tom is that he is equal parts goofy and thoughtful, and that he is such a great listener, while Tom says that Amy is just so caring and sweet, and really takes his pranks and goofiness like a champ.
My favorite thing about this duo is just how effortless their love is. Shooting with them was really so peaceful and intimate, and I knew I was truly in the presence of love.
Thank you for letting me walk with you, explore with you, and witness your love. The time that we spent together really showed that you two are truly partners, drawing on each other’s strengths. My wish for you is that you continue to savor every moment, that you always find the goofiness and joy that you shared on this day, and that you always continue to grow together. Thank you so much for letting me share in telling your story.
XOXO
