Welcoming Baby Asher

I am so excited to have been a part of this beautiful time in Rachel and Jacob’s lives, celebrating their sweet little family with a SAPPY shoot.  Rachel and Jacob were so excited to capture the first images of their new family of four, and I was more than thrilled to be a part of this beautiful experience.

While I was shooting this session, and witnessing so much joy and love, it really dawned on me that this is not only an important chapter in Rachel and Jacob’s story, but it is also a beautiful “once-upon-a-time” for Baby Asher.  

Now, it’s time to share their beautiful story with my own SAPPY family!

Their Story:

Rachel and Jacob met six years ago, and admittedly did not like one another in the beginning. Rachel explains:

“We absolutely [disliked] each other at first…

because he made a comment about my outfit!  

How dare he?”  

It’s easy for the pair to laugh about it now, after having been together for more than five years and starting their beautiful family together.  

“For the first week after we met, Jacob showed up at my house unannounced and would bring me food or flowers to win me over, and it worked.”

Rachel says her favorite thing about Jacob, now, is what a gentle father he is, and how sweet he is with their two boys.

“I love watching him rock our oldest to sleep at night.”

The next chapter:

On picking the name Asher, Rachel explains that she found the name in her bible many years ago, and has had it on her name list since.  The name means, “happy, blessed”.

The duo are parents to baby Asher as well as Callen, who is just sixteen months old.  Rachel says that Callen is now warming up to Asher, giving him kisses every morning, melting Rachel and Jacob’s hearts.

I asked the new mother of two, what she would like to say to her baby boy, twenty years from now, and her response was nothing short of tear-jerking:

“Never grow up.  You’ll always be my baby”
