Meet Mr. & Mrs. Mashburn – Glendalough Manor Wedding – May 1, 2021
Travis & Rachel met when they were freshman in High School. They were friends for a year before dipping their toes into dating each other and by senior year, they were in love with each other. They dated through college and started to build a life together.
Rachel is an incredible artist. She’s a graphic designer, a painter, and an illustrator. She’s actually been working on a children’s book that has brail for blind kids. She loves all things vintage and could thrift all day. And, she loves plants. Basically, she’s just one of the coolest people I know. Travis is more quiet and reserved. He’s works at Southern Company in Technology Innovation. So obviously, he loves to play video games. Plus, he has the cutest turtle named Sheldon. He also spends time riding his motorcycle and is a gun collector. After Travis and Rachel graduated from college, they started their careers so they could work on building a life together.
Travis proposed to Rachel on Labor Day of 2020 at Line Creek in Peachtree City. Since they like to go on hikes there, he packed a breakfast picnic that day and popped the question. It was the perfect proposal for the two of them.
Now, It was time to start planning their perfect wedding. Things were tricky because of how weird 2020 was and the unknown that was ahead for everyone. But, they found a venue, set a date, and planned the most perfect wedding.
They chose Glendalough Manor in Tyrone, Georgia for their wedding venue. This was my first time ever taking photos here, but I instantly fell in love. This venue is GORGEOUS. The garden around the area made such a perfect place for portraits and the building itself almost looks like a miniature castle in Italy. It really set the mood for an epic wedding.
Travis & Rachel were surrounded by their friends and family when they said their vows. You could tell how happy everyone was for the couple. As soon as Rachel & her dad started walking down the aisle, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Rachel is a dear friend of mine and I have never experienced her her cry so naturally, I was also crying like a baby. It was such a special entrance to the wedding ceremony. Their ceremony was beautiful and you could see the joy they had throughout the entire day.
Travis & Rachel really know how to throw a party. They started it off with cocktail hour while we were taking their photos. But, the lovely people at Glendalough Manor brought the wedding party and bride & groom drinks and appetizers to hold everyone over. And let me just say, those appetizers were so delicious. After we finished photos, we joined the reception where they got introduced and went into their first dance and husband and wife. Dinner was served and it was just as delicious as those appetizers. And then they had a sweet slideshow of the two of them and then we all danced the night away! Including me. It was such a fun wedding!
These two now have a beautiful home in Newnan, Georgia and the cutest little dog named Willow. They spend their days working on their careers and their evenings playing with their dog, painting, playing video games, or just spending time with each other. They are just as perfect as their wedding.
